Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics and Heritage Health are joining forces—coming together in a partnership that strengthens pediatric care in North Idaho today and for years to come.

Stronger Together: Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics and Heritage Health Announce Merger for Spring 2026

Building a Healthier Future for Every Family in North Idaho Coeur d’Alene, Idaho — In North Idaho, pediatric care is personal. It’s the late-night call when your baby won’t stop crying. It’s the sports physical before senior year. It’s the steady voice that says, “They’re going to be okay.” For decades, Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics has been part of those moments for families across our region. As our community grows, one thing matters more than ever: protecting that trust and strengthening it for the future.

Today, Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics and Heritage Health announced a merger that secures pediatric care in North Idaho for the long haul and expands access for families across our region.

What's NOT Changing

Before you wonder what changes, here’s what doesn’t. Your pediatrician is still here. Your care team is still here. The Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics name remains.

What grows is the support behind it.

What is Getting Better

Now powered by Heritage Health, Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics becomes part of a broader, community-based system focused on keeping families healthy. Preventive visits. Early support. Dental care. Behavioral health. Coordinated services that simplify care instead of complicating it.

“As a dad, I know how protective you feel about your child’s healthcare,” said Mike Baker, CEO of Heritage Health. “We approached this with one question in mind. Does this make pediatric care stronger for families here? The answer is yes. The doctors you trust remain. The relationships remain. What this adds is stability, expanded services, and the ability to grow with our community. At Heritage Health, our mission is to improve life. That starts with children.”

This partnership protects access for everyone.

If you have commercial insurance, your care continues as it always has.

If your child is covered by Medicaid, your care continues.

If you do not have insurance, we can work with you. That’s who we are. Families can walk through our doors and know they will be cared for.

Our Shared Healthcare Beliefs

Heritage Health was built on the belief that healthcare should be available to every person in this community. This merger strengthens that promise for kids and families.

“This allows us to look ahead with confidence,” said Dr. Craddock of Coeur d’Alene Pediatrics. “We stay rooted in the personal, relationship-based care families know. At the same time, we gain resources that help us focus even more on prevention and whole-family wellness. We are excited about what this means for the children we serve.”

“This decision reflects long-term stewardship,” said Liz Montgomery, Board Chair of Heritage Health. “Healthy children build strong communities. Strengthening pediatric care today shapes the future of North Idaho.”

There are no immediate changes to providers or locations. Appointments continue as scheduled. Families will see the same familiar faces and experience the same trusted care.

Here Merger Means "Investment"

For those who are skeptical when they hear the word merger, we understand. In many industries, mergers mean consolidation or reduction. Here, it means investment. It means expanding prevention. It means simplifying care. It means making sure that five, ten, twenty years from now, families still have strong, local pediatric care right here at home.

North Idaho is growing. Healthcare is growing with it. And this partnership creates room for innovation and new services in the years ahead, all centered on keeping kids healthy and families supported.

When you show up, we will be here. And when the children being cared for today grow up and bring their own kids through these doors, they’ll step into a system their community chose to strengthen instead of shrink.

That is how you build a healthier future. Together.
