Katelyn Means

Dentist

Dr. Means joined Heritage Health in 2023. Originally from western Pennsylvania, Dr. Means earned her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018. She continued her dual degree graduate education at Pitt, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees in 2022.

While at Pitt, Dr. Means was inducted into Delta Omega Public Health Honorary Society, a national award for graduating in the top of her public health class. She also earned awards in clinical dentistry, including the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Restorative Dentistry, the American Association of Public Health Dentistry - Community Dentistry award, and the Langkamp Allison Award for excellence in teaching at Pitt.

During dental school, Dr. Means spent her free time organizing and leading an evening volunteer dental clinic for underserved and uninsured community members. The clinic was often referred to as her “baby,” and her time volunteering with her like-minded dental friends solidified her decision to continue providing dental services to those who need it most in her professional career.

Dr. Means elevated her training after dental school by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. At “The U,” Dr. Means strengthened her clinical skills in all aspects of general dentistry during this intensive program. Specifically, Dr. Means is skilled in dental surgery, endodontics, extensive crown and bridge, and managing medically complex patients. She is also trained in facial trauma triage, dentistry for patients with special healthcare needs, hospital dentistry, and digitally planned implant placement and restoration.

Currently, Dr. Means is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Dental Association. She is becoming a member of the Idaho State Dental Association and the Idaho Panhandle Dental Society.

Dr. Means and her partner, Cole, relocated to Coeur d’Alene with their funny kitty, Gary, to serve the communities of North Idaho. Dr. Means and her family love being outside and on the water, whether camping, fishing, or traveling. She loves all things Pittsburgh sports and will be found cheering on her Steelers, Panthers, Penguins, or Pirates any time of the year - Hail to Pitt!
