Steve Yates, LMFT

Steve Yates joined Heritage Health in 2023 and currently works as a Marriage & Family Therapist. Steve has over 30 years working in the field and went into the mental health and the helping professions because he wanted to bring a sense of calmness and peace to those who were struggling in their personal lives.

Steve specializes in helping people with individual and relationship problems and loves working with patients because it brings him a sense of joy to see his clients transform their lives.

Originally from Kansas City, Steve loves playing Pickleball with his wife, writing spiritual poetry, and spending time with his two kids and four grandkids.

Steve earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University in psychology and rehabilitation in 1985 and a Master’s degree from Liberty University for counseling in 1991.

A fun fact about Steve is he won an international poetry contest and had his poem placed in a book that was given to the Queen of England called “Poetry and Peace.”
