Janet Poorman, LPC, ACADC

Janet joined Heritage Health in 2019 and currently works as an Addiction Counselor at HH Restored Paths. Janet. LPC, ACADC has six years working in the substance use and co-occurring disorders field and went into this field because she wanted to help clients find hope, initiate change, build a support system, and live in recovery.   

 

Janet specializes in helping people with addictions and mental health issues and loves working with patients because it is exciting to see clients gain skills and beliefs that enable them to make lasting change.   

 

Originally from Arcata, California, Janet has been in Coeur d’Alene for over 30 years. She enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family (especially her granddaughter, Riley).  

 

Janet earned her Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University in Molecular Biology in 1988 and a Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University, 2017, in Substance Use Counseling.  

 

A fun fact about Janet is that she is intrigued by chickens and has an extensive collection of items related to them.
