Jared Malone, LMSW


Jared Malone joined Heritage Health in 2022 and currently works as a counselor.  


Jared went into counseling to begin the process of healing from his experiences in the Iraq War. The former enlisted Marine served two combat two tours and later he served as a private military contractor for five years. He started going to counseling through the Veterans Affairs and, after processing and healing, went back to school. Malone is now a licensed master social worker with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Hawaii and a master’s from Fordham University. 


Jared specializes in helping people post-traumatic stress and trauma. Jared has made numerous humanitarian missions to Ukraine, raising more than $250,000. He has delivered medical supplies and provided counseling to individuals affected by the war.  


Malone enlisted in the Marines during his senior year in high school after witnessing the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He is a third-generation Marine and both of his grandfathers fought in the Pacific during World War II. His father is a retired Marine officer.   


“Since my time in Iraq, I have struggled with my mental health and PTSD,” said Malone. “After the birth of my children, I knew it was time to get serious about getting help. A counselor at the Veterans Affairs recommended going into social work and mental health. He mentioned how learning to help myself before I can help others could be very beneficial to me.”  


Originally from Utah, Jared loves his spending time with his family.  Jared and his wife live in North Idaho and together they have two children.
