Cheri Zao

After retiring, Cheri Zao desired to expand her voluntary contributions to her community. Helping Heritage Health further its goals by participating on the Board of Directors was the perfect opportunity to give back.

Cheri joined the Heritage Health Board in 2019. She has over 18 years of experience practicing family medicine and 15 years of teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology with Cadavers at North Idaho College.

She received her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees from Steven F. Austin State University. She then completed her Medical Degree and residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Cheri enjoys hiking, traveling, gardening, cooking, kayaking, and various other outdoor activities. She serves as a member of the Idaho Medical Reserve Corps, volunteers as a Senior Health Insurance and Benefits Advisor, and is an active member of the Kootenai Electric Coop Trust Board.
